Everything you need to know about managing Shopify Metaobject entries with CSV, from the first export to the final import.
Can I create new Metaobject entries?
Yes. You can add new rows with new handles to your CSV. The app can use those new handles to create new Metaobject entries.
Do I need to create separate CSV files for updating and creating entries?
No. You can manage existing entries and add new entries in the same CSV workflow. Existing handles can be used for updates, while new handles can be used for new entries.
How do I reference a Shopify product in my CSV?
Use the product handle in the relevant Metaobject field. For example: the-collection-snowboard-liquid. The app uses the handle to identify the Shopify product.
How do I reference a Shopify collection?
Use the collection handle in the appropriate CSV field. This allows you to populate collection references while working directly in your spreadsheet.
Can I add Shopify files through CSV?
Yes. For Shopify file fields, you can copy the file URL and add it to your CSV.
Can I edit the exported CSV in Excel?
Yes. You can open the exported CSV in Excel, Google Sheets, or another application that supports CSV files.
What happens if I keep an existing Metaobject handle?
The handle is used to identify the existing Metaobject entry, allowing the app to process it as an existing entry rather than treating it as a completely new entry.
What happens if I add a new handle?
A new handle can be used to create a new Metaobject entry from the information provided in that CSV row.
Can I import a large CSV file?
Yes. The app is designed for bulk Metaobject management and provides faster processing for large files on the available plans.
Does the app validate my CSV?
Yes. The app includes CSV validation to help identify problems with uploaded data before processing.
Can I see my previous import and export jobs?

How many imports can I use for free?

Are CSV exports included?
Yes. The plans shown in the app include multiple or unlimited CSV exports, depending on the applicable plan and current pricing configuration.
Do I need to manually edit Metaobjects in Shopify Admin?
No. The purpose of the app is to provide a bulk CSV workflow, so you can export your entries, edit them in a spreadsheet, and import the changes back into Shopify. You can still use Shopify Admin whenever you need to make individual changes.
Is the app useful if I only have a few Metaobject entries?
It can be, but the main workflow is designed for merchants who want to manage multiple Metaobject entries efficiently, particularly when making bulk changes or creating many entries.
Can I use the app for different Metaobject types?

How can I check my current usage?
